Off to see the Queen!

Today I ventured to Windsor and Windsor Castle.  It was a beautiful sunny morning so despite the traffic heading out of London it was a perfect morning for castle viewing:)

The Castle is just beautiful and such a gorgeous setting.  Together with Buckingham Palace in London and Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, Windsor Castle is one of the principal official residences of the British monarch.  Queen Elizabeth II spends many weekends of the year at the castle.  The flag was raised that meant the Queen was in the residences!  Very cool.  I was able to see the State Rooms which were amazing.  More impressive, though, was the Doll House that belonged to Queen Mary.  The detail was incredible!  Very very neat.
Also got to see the Changing of the Guard ceremony which was really neat as I’ve never braved the crowds to see the one outside Buckingham Palace!
More about the Castle on Wikipedia here.
Pictures (I kind of overdid it but it was so nice out!) here.
Have videos of the Changing of the Guard but taking way too long to upload!
