Well I may have not made it to the real Venice…
but for now I have visited Little Venice! And what a gorgeous day it was. Little Venice is in Northwest London in a part of the city called Maida Vale. The name is believed to have been coined by the English poet Robert Browning who lived in this area from 1862 to 1887. It is the junction of Regent’s Canal and the Paddington arm of the Grand Union Canal. It is definitely prime real estate!
Madonna tried to buy a home here a few years back for 4.2 million pounds but was gazumped (when someone offers higher after you have already agreed with the seller on a price) at 4.7 million pounds! You can see a picture of the amazing home overlooking the canal in my pictures of this walk here.
Another notable star that lived in the area was Joan Collins! There were other names mentioned but mostly British ones that I didn’t know. Really such a great and beautiful walk though- even without any history!
